“She was never crazy. She just didn’t let her heart settle in a cage. She was born wild and sometimes we need people like her. For it’s the horrors in her heart that cause the flame in ours. And she was always willing to burn for everything she has ever loved.” ~ Author Unknown

The Charred Atlas. This is where my journey in art began, although I have worked in the creative field for over ten years. But that is of no matter at this point in my life, because it wasn't until I put charcoal to an atlas that I discovered a purpose. It was a grand idea to start out with. A process of healing, art therapy and recovery. It was also my way of preparing my self for a Masters in Transpersonal Art Therapy.

I planned to visit campgrounds across the United States where I would draw a piece with the charcoal from the fire I burnt every single night. I would only use an Atlas, drawing on the exact location that I was in at the time. It was my way of 'rising from the ashes' and renewing myself. I was going to start a separate blog in order to document the process. I may still do this, but a lot of healing has already taken place since I began 'practicing' and many more paths opened up along the way. Only time will tell.
